While it is easy to see the geographic similarities between the nations of South America, the coffees they produce are diverse.
Coffee was introduced through different channels and at different times to Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela (which now produces little coffee for export but was a major coffee producer in the past).
Coffees of the Andes and the Cordilleras of Colombia share little in taste attributes with the medium altitude coffees of Brazil’s vast coffee growing flatlands (Cerrado, Mogiana, Minas Gerais).
