Fresh Roast SR800 Coffee Roaster Overview

Ryan discusses the features of the Fresh Roast SR800 Coffee Roaster, Pros and Cons, and how it differs from previous Fresh Roast models.

The Fresh Roast SR800 roasts up to half a pound of coffee and has easy-to-use controls. The footprint is compact but it’s built like a skyscraper so be careful when roasting because the top pieces and roast chamber are not fully secured to the base.

The chaff collector works great and the view of your coffee roasting is very entertaining. With fan and heat controls, you can shape your roast as much as you want.

  1. I have the SR 500 series roaster for 5 years and the display doesn’t work properly . I’m looking to replace and I was looking for a recommendation. SR 800 or a drum roaster which would be best for a consistent roast and low input. We enjoy a medium to light roast.
    thank you

    1. The SR800 is a good machine, and if you add the taller extension tube later on, you can roast larger amounts of green coffee. I3t’s hard to learn roasting again in switching to a Behmor roaster, so if I were you I would probably want to stay with what is familiar (?) Thats just me though.
