A simple one-take video just to show how we use the Roest coffee sample roaster on an average Monday morning at Sweet Maria’s.
We thought it might worthwhile to show a average day of use on the Roest sample roaster. As people read about all the features of the machine, it might start to seem that it’s complicated. It’s not!
While the machine is truly a “lab quality” piece of equipment, allowing roast control in many ways, you don’t have to get into the weeds with the details. In fact the main strength is how it relieves your workload, not adds to it!
As a hybrid drum/air roaster with the ability to base profiles on any of 4 sensors, also means modeling a greater varietyA botanical variety is a rank in the taxonomic hierarchy below the rank of species and subspecies and above the rank of form (form / variety / subspecies... ...more of roast styles / roast dynamics is possible with Roest. For those with other types of hybrid machines, such as the Loring, it’s easy to see the connection. But in fact I am building profiles that get us much closer to a wide range of roast specifications (Probat L12 Drum roasts, Popper air roasts, BehmorA popular electric drum roaster designed for home use, with variable batch sizes (from 1/4 pound to 1 pound) and a smoke-reduction system. It has been modified and... ...more Roasts etc) than is ever possible with our traditional Probat and Gothot drum sample roasters.
(A minor oops: You need to wait until an active roast ends to download new profiles on the machine.)
