USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Padded Envelope is a great option for smaller orders
You may notice more prominence given to the Flat Rate Padded Envelope option on Sweet Maria’s. In the past we didn’t use it much for smaller green coffee
Green coffee refers to the processed seed of the coffee tree fruit. Coffee is a flowering shrub that produces fruit. The seeds of the fruit are processed, roasted,... orders (from 1 to 5 Lbs.). We thought our boxes, and UPS Ground, was the best option.
But we notice that, when packed carefully and with our stronger custom green coffee bags, these padded envelopes are a good deal. Depending on the shipping zone, they have a shorter time in transit.
We also switched recurring 4 pound subscription orders to the USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Padded Envelope. We did this because:
- The transit time for your order should be improved. For these shipments, the “in transit” time for USPS Priority Mail is typically faster than UPS Ground and deliveries also occur on Saturdays.
- Utilizing flat rate padded envelopes for these orders reduces the total volume and weight of packaging, which reduces waste and is better for our business.
- After recent price increases by our carriers, this switch allows us to keep the shipping price for subscriptions as low as possible.
